S4J is bringing technology in schools, as a way to catch up with the innovation and developments of the industry. Back in November 2017, SICPA Security and Solutions, a swiss company operating also in Albania, was very generous to sponsor a desktop 3D printer lab for Industrial “Pavarësia” school in Vlora (read more on private sector companies sponsoring VET in this link).
During the month of April, 11 teachers and 11 students from all vocational directions started a training on how to use the 3D printers for implementing new and innovative ideas. The printers shall be used to create products which in turn can be useful for teaching and learning purposes, as well as for serving to the community in need in the future.
During the training, students and teachers will learn to use design software and make practical use of the 3D Printer. They will also learn CAD, a module included in the school curricula. Before the course, CAD was partially delivered as a module due to the lack of proper infrastructure in school.
