‘Gjergj Canco’ vocational school joined ‘Skills for Jobs S4J in late October 2017. During the last year the Development Unit (DU) was established and teachers were trained to perform the different functions of the DU.
By the end of the 2017-2018 academic year, teachers performing business relations functions in the school’s DU, together with project staff started identifying and meeting with potential businesses that could provide apprenticeships for students in ICT, Electric and Electrotechnics directions.
Due to the requirements from private sector companies, a tailored approach was designed for implementing the apprenticeships process, which at first will be offered to students in the 12th and 13th grade (unlike other schools supported by the project that start providing apprenticeships for students in the 10th grade).

During the Apprenticeships Week in November 2018, students from 12th and 13th grades will be matched with these businesses for their apprenticeships. The school is constantly reaching out to new business partners that can provide apprenticeships for students.
