‘Kristo Isak’ students participate in Summer School on Cultural Heritage

At the end of the academic year, vocational schools supported by ‘Skills for Jobs’ S4J, started preparing for a summer enriched with activities for their students and the local communities. The aim of this initiative is to provide an alternative to youngsters for the summer holidays, while developing their skills, boosting their curiosity, creativity and confidence and having fun.

From 18-30 June 2018, students from ‘Kristo Isak’ vocational school in Berat participated in ‘Heritage+ Camp’, a joint initiative of the school, Berat Municipality, Artisan Centre ‘Margarita’, supported by the European Delegation in Albania. For two weeks, the participant had the opportunity to get to know better and practice some of the city’s traditional activities, such as wood carving, stone engraving, embroidery, traditional cooking, folk dance, drawing and painting of frescos, gardening, etc.

The ‘traditional cooking’ session was organized from 25-27 of June in the school’s kitchen, where students and instructors from the school showcased the preparation of some traditional dishes.

More activities will be organized also in other schools throughout the summer. Want to learn more? Follow the schools in social networks:
