In Swisscontact is very common to exchange best practices and lessons learned with colleagues working on similar topics in projects around the globe.
Peer learning and coaching is considered as the best way to transfer knowledge and expertise, as it offers cooperation with a focus on quality and boosts a continuous improvement culture among and within partner providers. Building on Swisscontact’s experience on Communities of Practice (CoP), ‘Skills for Jobs’ (S4J) is supporting partner VET providers to establish similar knowledge sharing networks among teachers.
Facilitated by S4J and endorsed by the Albanian National Agency for VET and Qualifications (NAVETQ), CoPs will be established to support member teachers and institutions to develop and implement better teaching plans, learning materials, technology-based and innovative solutions.
The first Community of Practice among S4J supported VET institutions was established in a meeting in early September. The group is dedicated to the Curricula Development and Teacher Training functions of the schools Development Unit, with its members being the coordinators of these roles in each school.

An online coordination meeting was organized shortly after, which was also attended by the Minister for Education, Lindita Nikolla, who committed to engage together with the Institution for Education Development (IZHA) in addressing challenges related to general education curricula in VET.
S4J will facilitate the establishment of more thematic CoPs among VET institutions supported by the project. Please feel free to share your thoughts in this direction. Every suggestion is a valuable contribution to our work!
