In 2017, a twinning agreement was signed between the Swiss vocational school IDM in Thun and the industrial ‘Pavarësia’ school (SHIP) in Vlora, with the support of ‘Skills for Jobs’ (S4J). The agreement was followed by virtual exchange between schools regarding teaching programmes and best practices.
Finally, it is time to get ‘real’! From November 4th to 7th, IDM teachers will pay a visit to their SHIP colleagues in Vlora. The exchange is supported by S4J, which co-financed the visit, together with IDM.
The objective of this visit is developing and improving school-based curricula in auto mechanics direction, with a focus on including more the use of technology both in the learning process and in the profession. During the visit, both directors will discuss their joint twinning plan for the future.
Two more S4J supported schools have signed twinning agreements with Swiss schools. Currently, the project is exploring exchange opportunities for apprentices enrolled in Albanian VET schools.
