In October and November, the first phase of the Training of Trainers ‘ToT’ programme on in-company mentors’ training was delivered in Tirana. The programme was developed in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) and delivered by Mërgim Jahiu, an expert working with the Swiss institution.
Providing capacity building for in-company mentors is important to ensure delivery of qualitative apprenticeships in partnership with the private sector, as well as complete the framework for work-based-learning in Albanian.
As a pedagogical background is important to ensure quality and sustainability in new training programmes, the ‘ToT’ was offered to Development Unit teachers, VTC instructors, university teachers, local institutions, training providers and NGO-s. S4J is collaborating with NAVETQ to licence these institutions in order that they can offer this type of training in the future.
‘The process has been going very well! Participants have contributed with positive comments and are very enthusiastic for this experience.’ – says Mërgim Jahiu, the representative from SFIVET who is in charge for delivering the ‘ToT’.
In early January 2019 (from 15th to 16th), the future trainers will provide the first Training of in-company Mentors, under SFVIET guidance.
