Continuous Professional Development Models
Skills for Jobs’ Phase 3 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) objectives are geared towards creating a well-rounded and dynamic professional development ecosystem that empowers both teaching and non-teaching staff, aligns with national standards, and contributes to a thriving vocational education and training sector in Albania.
Strengthening Teaching Staff CPD Model
Building upon the successes of Phase 2, Phase 3 will focus on further developing and solidifying the CPD model for teaching staff within partner institutions. This will involve continued capacity building, coaching in pedagogical techniques, digital skills enhancement, and fostering Communities of Practice (CoPs) to create a more cohesive and skilled teaching workforce.
Alignment with National CPD System
Skills for Jobs will actively collaborate with the National Agency for VET and Qualifications to ensure that the CPD model for teaching staff seamlessly aligns with the national CPD system for teachers. This synergy will promote consistency, relevance, and effectiveness in enhancing educators’ professional growth and abilities.
Inclusive CPD for Non-Teaching Staff
Recognizing the diverse roles and responsibilities of non-teaching personnel in VET institutions, Phase 3 will introduce tailored CPD models catering to their specific needs. This initiative aims to empower non-teaching staff, including principals, department heads, coordinators, and support staff, with the skills and knowledge required to contribute effectively to the VET ecosystem.
Pilot and Integration
The project will pilot the newly developed CPD models at the provider level, ensuring their practicality and effectiveness within real-world educational contexts. These pilot initiatives will be seamlessly integrated into the educational framework, providing tangible and sustainable enhancements to teaching and non-teaching staff alike.
Complementary National Initiatives
By collaborating with both the National Agency for VET and Qualifications and the National Agency for Employment and Skills, Skills for Jobs aims to ensure that the developed CPD models complement and enrich the broader national CPD landscape. This strategic collaboration seeks to create a harmonious and unified approach to professional development across vocational education and training in the country.
