Amf, insurer’s association, balfin group, deloitte and more companies join the vet business network
At Swisscontact, we believe that the involvement of private sector companies in delivering VET programs is essential to prepare the professionals of the future. In our project, we encourage partner VET institutions to constantly look out for new opportunities that can improve their students’ experience. During the past couple of months, more private sector companies joined the network of businesses that support public VET institutions.
Balfin Group, Deloitte, Smartwork, Gjeo-Vjosa and the Transmission System Operator (OST) signed Memorandums of Understanding with ‘Gjergj Canco’ vocational school in Tirana during the ‘Week for Apprenticeships’. Soon, these companies will start providing apprenticeships and GSD schemes to school students. Swisscontact’s collaboration with Balfin Group is expected to grow even further. Considering the presence of the company in many cities of Albania, the project is very dedicated to foster a cooperation between the company and the other S4J supported VET institutions.
At the start of the academic year, Tregtare school in Vlora introduced for the first time the Insurance profile into their vocational offer. To fulfil the schools’ and teachers’ needs for technical information and up-to-date learning materials, S4J, in collaboration with the Financial Supervision Authority and the Albanian Association of Insurers, facilitated a training for teachers that will deliver the subjects of the new profile. The training on ‘Insurance development’ and ‘Insurance Accounting’ was delivered in mid-October by experts from private sector companies operating in the industry.
In November and December 2018, Memorandums of Understanding were signed between ‘Skills for Jobs’ S4J and representatives from the Albanian Association of Insurers and the Financial Supervision Authority (AMF), in the light of extending the support also to other public vocational schools included in the project.
