MORE INITIATIVES IN CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR VET TEACHERS AND INSTRUCTORS
Continuing professional development (CPD) is important because it ensures that individuals continue to be competent in their profession. It is an ongoing process that continues throughout a professional’s career and delivers benefits to the individual, their profession and the public.
At “Skills for Jobs”, we understand the importance of exposing teachers and instructors to a wide range of staff development activities, both formal and informal, designed to address individual teachers’ development needs and improve their professional practice. These activities may include but are not limited to industry knowledge events and training, coaching and mentoring activities as well as communities of practice that benefit their professional development.
With the start of the new academic year 2019-2020, new and updated programs and technologies have been integrated in the VET offer. Such programs and technologies require complementary capacity building for VET teachers and instructors. During 2019, teachers and instructors of S4J partner providers have been exposed to a series of CPD activities, listed in this table.
More than 30 teachers will be soon trained on delivering the Digital Marketing module to 12th grade students in the ICT, Economy and Tourism & Hospitality directions in all S4J partner VET providers. “Skills for Jobs” is also planning to facilitate teacher training on the revised ICT curricula to all VET schools in Albania offering the ICT direction. We’ll keep you posted on the progress!
