Supporting DUs’ Capacity Development through Communities of Practice

S4J is supporting DUs to implement their working plans support through facilitating communities of practice. Heads of DU or coordinators of certain functions gather and share their experiences providing this way possibility for knowledge transfer from more experienced to the newest colleagues. Thematic meetings have been organized with:

  • Heads of DU on planning and reporting;
  • Project Development Coordinators on project idea generation, donors’ landscape, project proposal components;
  • Tracer Coordinators on tracer analysis and facilitating provider decision making based on data;
  • Marketing Coordinators on digital marketing, etc.

This modality of capacity building is very effective in providing peer support and is a good opportunity for new coordinators to come up to speed. At the same time, fruitful discussions result in capitalizing experience and bring up novelties in each function providing this way possibility for the function upgrade.
