n May 2016, “Skills for Jobs” S4J started a journey towards the modernisation of skills development in Albania through blended learning to increase students’ employability in this era of digitalisation and a rapid changing world of work.

In partnership with Swiss and Albanian expertise and organisations dealing with innovation in education, we have been working with 6 vocational schools in Berat, Lezha, Vlora, Shkodra and Tirana.

As a result, now we have many best practices contributing to the quality of students’ skills development. Vanguard teachers are using in vocational schools virtual learning platforms, gamification, social media, flipped classrooms, interdisciplinary projects etc.

In April 2018, Skills for Jobs received the special price from Albanian ICT Awards jury, recognising the excellent work and the modern vision of conceptualizing vocational schools in Albania.

A “Knowledge Fair” where these best practices will be presented, will promote new ways of learning to peers, education specialists, and the public. The fair will also serve as a discussion forum about the Skills for Jobs strategy and will provide input on the national dialogue about the skills development and employment reform.
