Strategic Activities during the Apprenticeships Week 2021
More than in other years, S4J’s partner providers have planned activities for the Apprenticeship Week 2021 strategically to address issues emerged from graduates’ tracer reports. During the week of November 22-26, 56 activities were organized by 9 Skills for Jobs partner schools, involving more than 1800 students. Some of the types of activities that we can single out are:
• Activities for the promotion and importance of apprenticeships;
• Students’ competitions;
• Company representatives visit the school;
• Exchange visits between schools;
• Fairs exhibiting students’ works and projects;
• Visits of 9-year schools’ students to S4J partner schools as well as to companies where apprenticeships are carried out;
• Story-telling sessions where more than 12 women entrepreneurs, members of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, presented the students with their professional journey.
Vocational “Kolin Gjoka” School, Lezha
Vocational “Kolin Gjoka” school organized a fair where two 9-year schools’ students participated as visitors. Students’ works were exhibited at the fair; and they were accompanied by their company instructors.
Throughout the Apprenticeships Week, vocational “Kolin Gjoka” school invited company instructors to talk about the importance of career guidance and development of practical skills through apprenticeships in all directions offered by the school.
Vocational “Hamdi Bushati” School, Shkodra
Vocational “Hamdi Bushati” school focused on promoting students’ practical skills through organizing a school fair, consolidating relations with local businesses and visits to handicraft companies.
Commercial School in Vlora
Commercial School in Vlora organized activities with students as a showcase for their practical skills acquired in school and during apprenticeships in companies, as well as invited company representatives at school to share their professional journey with students.
Technical Economic School in Tirana
The school organized a fashion show with works of “Textile-Garments” direction students. Business representatives had orientation sessions with students about their professional journey and the importance of apprenticeships. Moreover, there have been exchange visits between school staff. Technical Economic School staff paid a visit to vocational “Hamdi Bushati” school in Shkodra, while vocational “Salih Çeka” school staff visited Technical Economic School premises.
Vocational “Gjergj Canco” School, Tirana
Vocational “Gjergj Canco” school organized a competition with students’ innovative projects with a jury of business representatives. The winning project received a gift from “Abiesse” company.
