Swisscontact albania teams up with microsoft to organize ‘hour of code’ activities

At ‘Skills for Jobs’ S4J, we value ICT as an attractive career path for both young boys and girls. With the constant modernization of technology and its extension to every field of life and business, it is imperative for young students to achieve relevant computer skills.

To raise awareness on computer science among school students, for the second year in a row, Swisscontact, through ‘Skills for Jobs’ project, is supporting Microsoft and ICTSlabs in organizing ‘Hour of Code’ activities in throughout Albania. In S4J partner schools, the activities started in December and will last until January 2019. Instead of Microsoft trainers, trained school students will organize the activities for their peers and visiting students from 9th grade schools.

Swisscontact shares Code.org’s vision (the non-profit agency behind the campaign) in expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities. 10% of all students in the world participated in the 2017 Hour of Code campaign.
