Enhancing Soft Skills Integration in Education

The integration of soft skills in teaching requires a comprehensive approach that goes beyond preparing and assessing knowledge in general and professional subjects or practical learning. It also emphasizes the identification and stressing the significance of these skills in every aspect of the teaching and communication process within schools. This includes fostering positive teacher-student relationships, encouraging student collaboration, empowering students’ interactions with school administrators, and promoting effective parent-teacher communication.

In collaboration with the “Human Development Promotion Center” (HDPC), “Skills for Jobs” organized a dynamic gathering on March 6th at “Gjergj Canco” school in Tirana. The event brought together participants from various institutions, including the National Agency for Employment and Skills and the Pre-University Education Quality Assurance Agency, school directors, teachers, and students from partner schools, as well as representatives from the business community.

The meeting showcased the applied approach and achievements in integrating soft skills into the school curriculum by “Gjergj Canco” school. Teachers from this school shared how they have integrated soft skills into the teaching process. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, they successfully improved their teaching plans, for an integral enhancement of soft skills through teaching techniques and assessment instruments.

During the group sessions that followed, participants engaged in discussions about future plans with other partner schools, seeking to institutionalize the approach of “Gjergj Canco” school.
