E-VET Albania 2030: Advancing VET’s Modernization Journey

On April 18, a hybrid public hearing, titled “E-VET for Albania 2030,” represented another milestone in the modernization of vocational education and training (VET). Led by the Ministry of Finance and Economy, this initiative was implemented in collaboration with the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Qualifications (NAVETQ), the National Agency for Employment and Skills (NAES), and with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the “Skills for Jobs” project, and the UNDP “Skills Development for Employment Programme” (SD4E).

The core objective of this dynamic gathering was to facilitate a transformative exchange of experiences, ideas, challenges, and opportunities among key stakeholders, including representatives from VET institutions nationwide, VET students, and the private sector.

Klevis Hysa, General Director of NAVETQ, and Ejvis Gishti, General Director of NAES, presented a project proposal designed to propel the modernization of VET through Information and Communication Technology.

As the discussion unfolded, participants took center stage, providing insights, posing questions, and sharing the challenges they encounter in their respective contexts. Of particular note, students took the spotlight with their active engagement and expressed aspirations for a VET system that aligns with the needs of a technologically proficient generation.

By the end of the activity, key issues raised by participants were documented, ensuring that the process aligns with the authentic needs of stakeholders.
