The closure of schools as a result of the spread of COVID-19 has damaged in the first place the main beneficiaries of the education system, pupils and students, but at the same time has challenged the leaders of this field in Albania. In these circumstances, enabling distance learning has taken on a primary role in response to overcoming the obstacle of physical pursuit of studies due to quarantine.

To continuously monitor and improve the distance learning process, the “Skills for Work” project has developed an assessment and monitoring framework based on surveys with students and teachers, as well as ongoing process documentation. The first study of its kind for VET in Albania presents the main results of a survey conducted at the end of March with students and teachers in 10 schools of vocational education and training. This report aims to understand their experience during the teaching process in terms of distance learning online as well as steps to improve the process.
