Open Days at Vocational “Kolin Gjoka” School: A Model of Collaboration and Innovation

As part of its commitment to institutional promotion, in May, vocational “Kolin Gjoka” school organized the “Open Days” event—a dynamic initiative that brings together key stakeholders and creates spaces for dialogue and collaboration.

This year, the event took on a new dimension with the participation of four newly partnered schools with Skills for Jobs (S4J), fostering an atmosphere of exchange among vocational schools. Representatives from these schools explored best practices in private sector engagement, both in promoting the school and in guiding 9th and 11th-grade students in career orientation and profile selection—all achieved through the active involvement of businesses.

One of the key moments of the event was the presentation of dual VET, the innovative approach transforming how young people are prepared for the labor market. Vocational “Kolin Gjoka” school shared its positive experience in offering the “Culinary (dual)” qualification, showcasing how this model enhances the quality of vocational training and improves students’ employability.

Events like these put best practices and private sector collaboration at the forefront, serving as an inspiring model for institutional promotion in vocational education.
