S4J Experience in Quality Apprenticeships: Presented at the ITCILO Conference

The “Skills for Jobs” project was highlighted at the Fair of Skills for Quality Apprenticeships, organized by ITCILO in Turin from February 27-29, 2024. This event brought together more than 1000 participants, 102 speakers, and 29 booths showcasing international experiences, all dedicated to discussing the evolution of young people’s professional journeys through high-quality apprenticeships.

Mr. Fation Dragoshi, the Project Manager of “Skills for Jobs,” participated as one of the panelists in the session focused on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Quality Professional Practices. He shared insights gleaned from the project’s 8-year journey in Albania, emphasizing its role in fostering quality apprenticeships for thousands of young individuals. Additionally, Eliana Myrselaj, a former student of Gjergj Canco school, joined remotely to narrate her apprenticeship experience at Timak company, where she has been employed for two years.

Apprenticeships stand as a pivotal element within any developmental and employment strategy, crucial for addressing forthcoming challenges in the labor market. Swisscontact, through its “Skills for Jobs” project, has significantly contributed to VET institutions in Albania, enhancing the quality implementation of apprenticeships and fostering meaningful engagement with the private sector over the years.
