Hospitality and Tourism teachers in Lezha, Vlora and Berat are already familiar with the latest news in the service industry. Thus, students of vocational schools of these tourist areas will benefit from the recently acquired knowledge and skills of their teachers. This is thanks to a cooperation agreement between the 5-star hotel Plaza Tirana and the Swiss project ‘Skills for Jobs’.

Over several weeks, Plaza Tirana, a hotel of international standards, organized in its premises a practical training on the full cycle of services. The training was delivered by 7 hotel staff members, covering all departments including reception, event management, food safety, etc.

 ‘During this month, we were trained by the best. This makes us the best too.  And, this is how we shall make our students! … ‘An opportunity that comes along once in a lifetime’…. ‘Deep appreciation for the hospitality, preparation and professionalism of the Plaza Tirana staff’…. ‘We are experiencing the feeling of being in a real international environment here at Plaza Tirana’….. These were some of the impressions that the trained teachers shared with the attendees during the award ceremony.

Following the success of this agreement, the Swiss ‘Skills for Jobs’ project is working to establish new partnerships with businesses aiming teachers’ technical and professional development in other fields as well. Therefore, bringing the teaching process in vocational schools closer to the real working environment in companies.
