With the aim of improving the quality of dual VET in Albania, the National Agency for Vocational Education, Training and Qualifications (NAVETQ), with the support of “Skills for Jobs” (S4J), organized in April a two-day workshop dedicated to student assessment in dual VET. The activity brought together vocational teachers from dual qualifications and deputy principals for vocational education from various vocational schools across the country.
The workshop focused on improving assessment processes and strengthening cooperation between schools and businesses, as a key element in ensuring high-quality vocational training that is closely aligned with the labour market.
Over the two days, participants addressed important topics related to the implementation of dual curricula, the legal framework for assessment, the tools and methodologies used for student evaluation, as well as the role of business mentors in supporting and monitoring students during their practical training.
Special attention was given to school–business cooperation and ways to ensure more structured documentation and reporting of the assessment process. Through structured discussions and group work, participants shared the challenges they face in practice, as well as successful experiences and models implemented in their schools.
At the end of the workshop, participants agreed on concrete measures to further improve the assessment, monitoring, and reporting processes within dual VET, contributing to higher quality standards in vocational education.
