Blended Learning in Practice: Sharing Experiences from Partner Vocational Schools

Between February and May 2026, “Skills for Jobs” (S4J) supported the delivery of 20 open digital lessons in four partner vocational schools: “Nazmi Rushiti”, “Stiliano Bandilli”, “Arben Broci”, and Korça Technical Vocational School. The activity aimed to promote blended learning through the use of the MesoVET platform and facilitate the exchange of practical teaching experiences among teachers.

The open lessons provided concrete examples of how digital tools can be used not only to access learning content, but also to increase student engagement, encourage discussion and reflection, and support the development of practical skills.

To share these experiences with a broader audience of teachers, Development Unit coordinators, and students, S4J organised two practice-sharing webinars in May.

The first webinar focused on student engagement through approaches such as the flipped classroom, discussion, and reflection. Teachers Brunilda Dojçe and Devis Pllaha (Korça Technical Vocational School), and Zija Vranezi (“Nazmi Rushiti” Vocational School), presented practices that promote active student participation and connect learning with real-life situations. The session also showcased examples of using MesoVET forums, brainstorming activities, guiding questions, and interactive tasks.

The second webinar focused on the use of demonstration videos and practical activities for the development of vocational skills. Teachers Erind Hoxha, Jetmir Hallunaj, and Ermira Ramaj shared their experiences in translating theoretical concepts into applicable skills through demonstrations and hands-on learning activities.

During the webinars, students Edona Tomja (“Nazmi Rushiti”) and Rikardo Luka (“Arben Broci”) shared their experiences, highlighting that combining digital activities with classroom learning increases student engagement and creates more opportunities for active participation in the learning process.

The examples presented demonstrated that MesoVET serves as a tool for structured instruction, demonstration materials, and self-assessment activities, while practical learning remains at the core of competency development in vocational education.
