MesoVET Supports the Delivery of Level Examinations in 12 Vocational Schools

The digitalisation of assessment processes in vocational education continues to make significant progress via the MesoVET platform. In June 2026, 1,474 students from 12 vocational schools across Albania used MesoVET to complete their theoretical level examinations. For five of these schools, this marked the first time that examinations were administered through the platform.

The use of MesoVET for level examinations is the result of several years of investment in strengthening digital capacities within the VET system. Beyond serving as a virtual learning environment, the platform provides a reliable infrastructure for conducting assessment processes in a standardised, transparent and secure manner.

This development is supported by a growing ecosystem of digital learning resources. To date, 253 digital learning materials developed with the support of Skills for Jobs (S4J) have been integrated into MesoVET. These resources cover qualifications in a range of sectors, including Hospitality and Tourism, Business and Economics, ICT, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Services, Electrical Engineering, Social and Health Services, Food Technology, and Plumbing and Heating Systems. The materials also include modules for dual qualifications at Albanian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Levels IV and V.

In addition to these learning resources, the platform hosts more than 300 courses created by teachers, as well as hundreds of dedicated spaces for training, communities of practice and professional development activities.

Currently, MesoVET is used by approximately 9,000 active users, including more than 7,700 students and over 1,200 teachers and school staff. At least one teacher from each of Albania’s 30 public vocational schools maintains an active profile on the platform.

The successful implementation of level examinations through MesoVET demonstrates that investments in virtual learning environments not only support teaching and learning processes but also lay the foundation for the transformation and modernisation of assessment practices across the VET system.
