New short-term courses are being piloted, in partnership with industry leaders

Vocational schools and training centres supported by S4J have started to pilot short-term courses, in partnership with industry leaders and private sector companies. To ensure continuity and sustainability in delivering these courses, future trainers and instructors are trained in the first phase of each course.

As of May 2018, the following courses are being piloted in Vlora, Lezha and Shkodra regions.

Web Design course at Vlora Vocational Training Centre

The 6-month course started in January 2018 and is designed and delivered in partnership with Albanian Business Partner. 15 future trainers that will offer the course at the Vocational Training Centre in Vlora will finalize the training in June. Participants in the course include instructors from Vlora VTC, ICT teachers and students from industrial “Pavaresia” school, ICT students from “Ismail Qemali” university and ICT specialists working in Vlora Municipality.

Graphic Design course at “Kolin Gjoka” school in Lezha

The 4-month course started in March 2018 and is designed and delivered in partnership with Protik Innovation Centre. The group of 19 future trainees is composed of: “kolin Gjoka” ICT teachers and students, ICT lecturers and students from Shkodra University, representatives from Lezha businesses and unemployed people in search of a job.

Hotel Maintenance and Cleaning Course, at both Vocational Training Center in Vlora and “Hamdi Bushati” school in Shkodra

The course was designed in partnership with Albpastrim. It was delivered together with the company to 31 participants in Shkodra region and 25 participants in Vlora region. Teachers from “Hamdi Bushati” school in Shkodra, instructors from VTC Vlora, representatives from Tourism & Hospitality sector and unemployed people in search of a job from both regions participated in the ToT (Training of Trainers course). The 6-day course will be soon offered by both vocational institutions.
